Walking out of my comfort zone to support Refugees and orphans

Many Ways You Can Help!

  1. Make a Monetary Donation

  2. Donate a Product or Service to be Auctioned

  3. Purchase a donated item or service

  4. Share Share Share

  5. Cheer me on! Send supportive messages! I’ve never modeled before and certainly not at New York Fashion Week! And I have never tried to get so many donations before in my life. But it’s going to happen, but I’m going to need a lot of pep talks! You can read more about my story here.

Mrs. USA sitting in a chair supporting Orphans and Refugees

Welcome! I am leaving my sweet husband and 8 children to spend a week in New York, walking the high fashion runways during New York Fashion Week 2024. For the sole purpose of bringing awareness to a really awesome cause! On top of my usually advocacy efforts for refugees who have and will be resettled in the United States of America, I am beginning a new adventure! And I hope you will join me!

We are going to be opening 2 small homes in Africa for orphans who have been displaced by war. One “micro orphanage in the Congo and one on the other side of the border, in Uganda. These homes will support 4-8 orphans each. Hence the name “micro orphanage” But the name we hope fits best will be “home”

We are not able to support dozens of children at this time, but with your help, we CAN support a few. And that is my goal! I am walking for several designers, to kick off this courageous endeavor. We have homes selected, caregivers waiting, security, licensing, and registration all on hold while we wait for funding to begin.

My goal is to fundraise enough during New York Fashion Week, to support both orphan homes for 2 years. The estimated cost of this is approximately $72,000 USD. There will certainly be other costs that come up, including travel to visit, oversee, setup and photographing of our operations, as well as unforeseen costs that are inevitable.

I hope you will join us in this heart felt undertaking.
